Fredo Santana, the talented young rapper from Chicago, has dropped the video for his latest single, "Better Play It Smart." Directed by Nick Brazinsky, the clip is a decidedly low-key affair, with Fredo pouring up in a BMW and darting through the nighttime shadows.

Santana's most recent mixtape was last May's Ain't No Money Like Track Money. Clocking in at 15 tracks, that set featured a series of high-profile guests, including Gucci Mane, Ty Dolla Sign, Kevin Gates, Lil Durk, Lil Reese, Que, Troy Ave and more.

More recently, he and the Houston up-and-comer Maxo Kream linked up for "Big Homies," a loose single that was produced by HurtBoyAG. In February of last year, he and his fellow Windy City native Chief Keef were featured in a video by the comedian and television personality Andy Milonakis.

Fredo came to prominence during the boom that drill music enjoyed in 2012 and 2013. That latter year, he made a surprise appearance in the video for "Hold On, We're Going Home," the lead single from the superstar rapper Drake's third studio album, Nothing Was the Same.

His debut retail album was that year's Trappin' Ain't Dead, which featured many of his drill cohorts G Herbo and Chief Keef, as well as a high-profile collaboration with Kendrick Lamar. Since then, he's been mostly operating below a national radar, though his music has been acclaimed at nearly every turn. Look out for a new LP some time in 2016.
