Yalana Vidal is a caramel cookie who came to me courtesy of Terrence of NuStarz Management (home of Eye Candy models Nisey Kamai and Lynda Rose). In this interview, we talk about the biggest misconceptions of her, her love for a French rapper named Booba, and what advice she would give to an aspiring model.

Tell us a little bit about yourself. Who are you? What do you do?

I'm from the Arlington, VA area, better known as the DMV. Currently I travel around pursuing my current career as a model, and also guest bartend at various venues throughout the United States.  Aside from being a pretty face to look at, I have a passion for being successful in whatever endeavors i'm involved in whether modeling or my real career. My goals are to use my modeling career to further pursue my real career of real estate. I feel that the modeling gives me a great opportunity to network and meet people who can hopefully be beneficial later on.

What makes you stand out from all of the other models in your area?

I am a curvy Latina woman in a market where they are far and few. Having branched out to the NYC area, I see a lot of other females with similar bodies, but not all have the exotic looks I have, which I can thank my Salvadorian background for.

What is the biggest misconception people have about you? Why do you think people have that misconception of you?

People tend to think that I'm older than my actual age of 21 because of my maturity and the way I carry myself, so I guess that's a good thing.

Who is your celebrity crush, and why?

There is a French rapper named Booba, which you might not have heard of, but something about his muscular body, his skin tone and most importantly his accent—it just does something for me!

Where do you see yourself in five years?

Unless something drastically changes, I will not be modeling anymore and plan on hopefully owning my own real estate business. In the meantime, I don't mind doing a couple of magazines to get some more exposure.

If you could give one piece of advice to an aspiring model, what would it be, and why?

Understand you are a brand and how to brand yourself. Although you don't have to be a diva early on in your career, be selective in what you do as far as who you shoot with, what magazines or videos you do—this can be the difference in your career. Understand the importance of your social media presence, it's everything in this business! The more followers you have, the more you will get booked.
