With four super-lyrical MCs in the group, Slaughterhouse didn’t exactly feel the urge to flood their upcoming album, Welcome to: Our House, with featured guests.

That being said, they still managed to make room for guest appearances from the likes of Busta Rhymes, Skylar Grey, Cee-Lo Green, Swizz Beatz, B.o.B. and none other than, Eminem.

Their Shady Records boss is scheduled to appear on three tracks—“Our House,” “Throw That” and “Asylum”—off the deluxe version of the LP, although Em admits that he had to be selective in deciding which tracks he should jump on to not overshadow any of the four MCs in the group.

He conveyed that point during a recent interview, in which he was joined live with all four members of Slaughterhouse, with Sway Calloway on Shade 45.

“It’s gotta be a balance,” Em said. “There’s four guys in the group. Once we did the ‘Our House’ record…that was kind of a no-brainer for me to try to help alley-oop something or help set up what was next. The other things kind of came together from us being in the studio.”

Slaughterhouse member and Em’s good friend, Royce da 5’9”, explained the process of including guests on the album as well.

“We weren’t really crazy with trying to get a whole bunch of guest appearances because there’s four of us,” Royce commented. “We’re already battling with each other about who’s going to split a 16…who gets cut out the song.

“Who gets cut out the songs that Em is on,” Joe Budden added. “I was the sacrificial lamb.”

Not that he’s complaining.

“If we give you a 100 Slaughterhouse songs and Eminem tries to put a 100 verses, I will always be the first one [to volunteer to get off the record],” Budden added.

Em’s involvement in Slaughterhouse’s album extends well past being their most potent featured guest. He also mixed, arranged, produced and executive-produced for the LP.
