DJ Khaled Debuts at No. 5 on Charts With 53K in Sales

DJ Khaled is starting off on the right foot with his first album with Cash Money Records.

His fifth album overall, We The Best Forever, managed to debut at the No. 5 spot in its first week, making it the only hip-hop record in the Top 10 of the Billboard Top 200 albums chart. The Miami DJ’s disc sold 52,900 copies this week, according to the Nielsen SoundScan report released today [July 27].

Bad Meets Evil, otherwise known as Eminem and Royce da 5'9", maintened the no 11 spot with their EP Hell: The Sequel, selling 28,500 in its sixth week on the charts, pushing its total number sold to 370,000 copies.

Further down on the Top 40 are Big Sean and Pitbull, sitting at numbers 27 and 28, respectively. Though Big Sean’s debut LP, Finally Famous fell nine spots on the charts from No. 18, it managed to sell 14,300 copies in its fourth week out, pushing the G.O.O.D. Music Alum’s album to a total of 146,700 copies sold. Pitbull’s Planet Pit, sold 13,700 in its fifth week, resulting in 130,500 copies in total.

Young Money’s first lady Nicki Minaj is the last hip-hop act in the Top 40, keeping her spot at No. 31 while selling 12,800 copies of her debut album Pink Friday. After 35 weeks on the charts, the Pink Barbie has sold 1,498,500 copies.
