Diggy Simmons hit radio station 99.1 KGGI to discuss his diss track aimed at J. Cole that leaked over the weekend. According to the teen, "What You Say to Me" was done almost a year ago and wasn't meant to be released, but he has no regrets about recording it.

"[There's] no big story behind it, it was really just that my sister, over a year ago, told me that [J. Cole] was saying he did this, that and the third 'caue they went to the same college together, but they didn't even really know each other like that, so, it wasn't even like that," he explained. "She also told me that he subliminally also talked about her in a song called 'Purpler Reign,' which was also false. So, it was me sticking up for my family.

"I did that record last year, a little over a year old, last year in February when I started recording the album," Rev Run's son continued to clarify. "I was gonna put it out but I didn't feel it was appropriate. But, like I said, that's my sister... I mean, you know, it's just how I felt about it. He lied."

Dig also made clear he wasn't the culprit behind the leak, saying he was actually at the movies when the song hit the net. He added that his father, the legendary Rev Run, who recently tweeted about the leak, supported his decision to record the track when he did.

"He already had heard the track," he said. "He said, same thing, 'family over everything. That's your sister.'"

On the track, Dig raps:

“The other day I was listening to ‘Purple Rain’/Couldn’t believe all the things that I heard him say/Who Dat? Who Dat? You know who it is/Heard you lying on my sis, tellin’ people that you hit,” Diggy raps. “When your album drops I’ma hit you with your bricks, so I’ma bomb first on you since you wanna riff/Who you gonna call, you ain’t got no friends, this fight is fixed/You ain’t got no wins/Little nigga named Cole think he live like me, jet setter trend setter, yeah you not like me/Can’t find a girl that you know that do not like me, can’t find a girl I know, who know you, you dumb fool/Wasn’t even poppin’ in the school you used to go to.”

And Diggy doesn’t end there.

“Got aight lyrics but can’t deliver your vocals/I’ma about to read you your rights, Miranda
only thing you hittin “In The Morning” is your Hand,” Diggy continued firing at Cole. “Stand up, matter fact sit down/Don’t try to call Hovi Hov for a sit down/College boy, acting like a criminal/Knowing you a broke back Jake Gyllenhaal/You imaginary player, even TMZ didn’t notice you was there/Geesh, you are such a dweeb
and your shirts don’t fit, long arms, short sleeves.”

“J. Cole… Puts out 2 records Dissing family & Diggy & nobody cared.. Some 1 leaks a old Diggy record and there’s a problem,” Rev. Run tweeted out to the masses on Sunday. Vanessa tweeted using her own account, “Our brothers r protective ova us CUZ guys stay LYING,” she tweeted. “***MORE IMPTLY that ish NEVER HAPPENED.*****”

When asked if he thinks Cole will respond back, Diggy simply stated, "I don't care. That's not my focus."

Diggy's Unexpected Arrival album dropped last week and sold 21,000 copies so far, landing at the No.13 spot on the Billboard 200 chart.
