Let's take a moment to appreciate how fucking fire rap is in 2016. It's like every week there's another slew of must-hear projects. Pour a little Henny out, man. It's Friday.

Nipsey Hussle is in the running for the most consistent rappers of the year so far, as his Marathon Mondays series is bearing hella dope fruit week after week. This time he grabs Young Dolph, the rising Memphis rapper, to join him on the hard-as-nails track, and the duo makes perfect sense together. After all, Nipsey made his name on the independent circuit before Hov shelled out $10,000 for his Crenshaw tape while Dolph has worn his indie status like a badge. The collab doesn't disappoint.

Dave East also continues to spit darts week after week, this time going over a Rico Suave beat to spit some vintage Harlem fly shit. Few rappers in NY are fucking with him right now.

One of the guys who might have been able to compete was Chinx, but he was taken from us last year and the East Coast scene hasn't been the same since. This week a single for his second posthumous album dropped and it features none other than the gorgeous vocals of Chrisette Michele. He's gone, but far from forgotten.

Tyga's wasting no time after his break-up with Kylie Jenner. After getting spotted with a smoking new model bae, he dropped a new song called "Cash Money" and he's airing out some dirty business. You're gonna want to hear this one; Birdman might not, though.

And to round out the week, Chicago's own Joey Purp has a jumpy new single dedicated to all types of ladies, complete with a hurricane of a Chance The Rapper verse.
