Jay-Z hauled in a truckload of cash this year. The hip-hop mogul was recently crowned the highest paid rap star on Forbes magazine’s Top Earning Musicians of 2010 list.

Jay reportedly pocketed $63 million over the last 12 months thanks to profits gained by his 40/40 nightclub chain, his investment in Broadway play Fela and the New Jersey Nets, as well as his last album Blueprint 3 and his successful BP3 tour, which brought in close to $1 million per show.

Hov’s $63 million tally got the Brooklyn MC the No. 6 spot behind front runners U2 ($130 million), AC/DC ($114 million), Bruce Springsteen ($70 million), Britney Spears ($64 million) and his pop star wife Beyonce. The singer landed at the No. 3 position after receiving $87 million in an assortment of endorsements with Nintendo and L’Oreal, as well as a 93-date world tour.

Also making it onto the list is the Black Eyed Peas. Will.i.am. and company came in at No. 10 with $48 million, due in part to their extensive touring and business agreements with Target, Honda, Bacardi and Apple. —Elan Mancini
