foxybrown.jpgAs expected, Foxy Brown was sentenced to 3 years of probation by a Manhattan Judge today after pleading guilty to misdemeanor assault charges stemming from a dispute with two nail salon workers back in 2004, the Associated Press reports. The Brooklyn rapper had unsuccessfully tried to withdraw her guilty plea, stating that she felt forced into it and arguing that her previous lawyer had informed her that she could be sentenced to jail time if she fought the charges and lost. Today Brown professed her innocence once again, however Judge Melissa C. Jackson denied the request, saying, "The purpose of a reargument is not to let the parties go over issues that have already been decided." On Monday, Jackson threatened Foxy with jail time if she was not present in her courtroom for today's sentencing. Under the terms of her plea, Brown will be required to submit to drug testing and attend anger management classes.
