50 Cent & Tony Yayo Sued Over Teen’s Assault

The mother of the 14 year-old son of Czar Entertainment head Jimmy “Henchman” Rosemond, has filed a civil suit against 50 Cent, Tony Yayo and several record labels in connection with the 2007 assault on the boy. According to the New York Daily News, Cynthia Reed, still incensed by the lenient sentence that Yayo receive in the case, is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. Reed’s son says he was pushed against a wall and smacked by Yayo because he was wearing a sweatshirt bearing the name of his father’s management company. The G-Unit rapper, originally charged with assault, copped out to a lesser plea of harassment in February and was sentenced to 10 days of community service. His co-defendant, Lowell Fletcher, pleaded guilty and was sentenced to jail time. It's hard to believe that a 14-year-old boy walking on E. 25th St. at 6 in the evening was attacked by four adult males just because of the shirt he was wearing," Richard Reich, the attorney representing the teen told the News. 50’s lawyer Benjamin Brafman reportedly dismissed the suit, saying Reed is just looking for “a quick payday.” The G-Unit boss was not present during the incident and was never charged in connection with the assault. In related news, Curtis is said to be in negotiations for a role in an upcoming independent film called Spectacular Regret. Should he land the part, Fif will play a death row inmate facing execution. The project will mark the dramatic directorial debut of actor Joshua Leonard, who starred in the runaway 1999 indie hit The Blair Witch Project.
