Earlier today, Reebok, known for signing some of the most elite sports athletes in the world, broke news of its latest partnership with hip-hop artist Kendrick Lamar. The sportswear brand known for signing popular athletes like Shaquille O' Neal, Allen Iverson, Floyd Mayweather Jr. and more, has continued to maintain its status as one of the main competitors to Nike and adidas, and with the recent announcement of their partnership with Kendrick, Reebok looks to close the gap between their sportswear rivals.
In 2003, Reebok became the first brand to sign a non-sports athlete to a shoe deal when they partnered up with Jay Z for the S.Carter shoe. The brand has also teamed up in the past with the likes of 50 Cent, Tyga, Swizz beatz and more. The partnership Kendrick signed with Reebok will inspire and empower youth to become their best selves through programs and is designed to provide a positive alternative to the streets. The deal will also include a line of Reebok sneakers that will be designed by Kendrick and be released in the fall of 2015.
With today's breaking news, we take a look back at some of the biggest names that have partnered up with Reebok.
