Kreayshawn’s name has been seemingly clouded in controversy more than her actual music.

But the pint-sized Oakland rhymeslinger will try to change all that with her debut album, Somethin ’Bout Kreay, which will be released on August 14 via Columbia Records.

"I feel so accomplished, having finished my album,” Kreayshawn said via a press release statement. “I got to travel the world, perform for crowds of tens of thousands, be on covers of magazines all over the world, and finish a whole album in less than a year."

Last May, around this time, Kreayshawn splashed onto the hip-hop scene with “Gucci Gucci,” a catchy hit which caught fire on the Internet, amassing over 200,000 views within the first 48 hours it hit YouTube and over 34 million views to date.

However, her name has been clouded with controversy as well, with her half-sister, V-Nasty’s, controversial use of the N-word and noted public beefs with the likes of Azealia Banks, Rick Ross, Lil B and even Lil Debbie, a rapper formerly of her White Girl Mob crew.

Kreay will try to pull listeners back to the music with her debut album, hoping her new single, “Breakfast,” helps. The single features 2 Chainz and the video for the track was shot in Atlanta.

"My favorite part about the video shoot was the breakfast party in the kitchen. It was so colorful and just how I envisioned it when I wrote the treatment." "I just want everyone to be ready for a mystical musical journey through genre and sound. There's just somethin 'bout Kreay..." —Jakinder Singh
