There’s no love lost between Ludacris and Bill O’Reilly, but Luda recently shared how the former rivals were able to squash their beef.

On a recent stop on Sway In The Morning, the Atlanta rapper retold a story about he stepped to O’Reilly, opinionated host of Fox’s “The O’Reilly Factor” show, during a White House fundraiser, even revealing the detail that O’Reilly was able to ease tensions between them by offering to cut him a check for his Ludacris Foundation.

“He kind of started talking to me about he’s heard a lot of the charity work I’ve done with the Ludacris Foundation, so this is how he eased into it,” Ludacris told Sway. “He was like, ‘Yeah, man, I hear you do good work and I think maybe I should make a donation to your Foundation.’ So, this is how he got me to calm down.

“So I was like, ‘Oh, you want to make a donation?” Luda continued. “Well, what do I need to do to make that happen immediately, like asap? He said, ‘Here’s my card, make sure you call me, have your Foundation write a letter and also hit me and we’ll make a donation. I can’t let everybody know how much the donation was, but at the end of the day, after all of this craziness, Bill O’Reilly ended up writing me a check to my Foundation after approaching him in person.”

The craziness that Ludacris is referring to dates back to 2002, when O’Reilly called for his viewers to boycott Pepsi products because he felt like Luda – who had a Pepsi endorsement at the time – glamorized a “life of guns, violence, drugs and disrespect of women” with his music. The next day, O’Reilly reported that Pepsi had terminated its deal with Luda, enraging the Mouf of the South MC.

All those subsequent years of tension, were definitely quelled when Luda approached O’Reilly for a real one-one-one.

“There’s nothing he could do,” Ludacris said. “I think that he talks about certain people, but he never thinks that he’s going to meet these people in person.” –Mark Lelinwalla
