Up-and-coming New Orleans rapper Curren$y, who has been signed to Lil Wayne's Cash Money/Universal distributed Young Money imprint for several years, recently announced on his MySpace that he is no longer with the label. In a post titled "Sorry yall i tried.....honest," which was posted at 6:07 a.m. on Sunday (Dec. 16), he declares his independence from his former label, but does not give a reason for his departure. He also goes on to claim that he will not be recording any diss tracks towards his former label. Curren$y's debut Music To Fly To was originally slated for a 2006 release, but the release date was pushed back indefinitely. A video for the first single "Where Da Cash At?," which featured Lil Wayne and Remy Ma, received play from major video networks back in 2006. Here is the full post from Curren$y's MySpace:
