Bishop Nehru is all about pushing forward. However, for his latest project, Nehruvia: My Disregarded Thoughts, he looks to the past for inspiration. Almost a decade after first conceiving the title My Disregarded Thoughts, Bishop finally found a good place for it. “I came up with the title My Disregarded Thoughts when I was in eighth or ninth grade,” says the 23-year-old artist, who dropped his Elevators: Act I & II album in 2018. “It was supposed to be my first mixtape, Nehruvia.” Before delivering his “ambitious” and “purposeful” sophomore set, which the likes of DJ Premier and MF Doom have lent helping hands to with production, Bishop Nehru proves there’s “passion in every line” of his freestyle for XXL’s Flex Zone.

"Lately been feeling like my mind is my biggest weapon/I’m about to go Kurt Cobain in a couple seconds, viewer discretion/This revolution televised, I plotted and they just copied the man like Gemini/Y’all watching with a different eye/The one I use to visualize/Master myself, these niggas clowns like Pennywise/Seen the disguise plenty of times/I see through the lies/Any replies and I’ma dead it, target neutralized/Know his heart is supersized/It's hard to get into his mind/Moving divine, the red flags been gettin' declined,” he raps.

Currently in a creative comfort zone, Bishop Nehru is ready to show and prove with the release of Nehruvia: My Disregarded Thoughts, due Jan. 24, 2020. “I’ve just been working and working and getting more and more comfortable with my music," he says. "I feel that I’m at the point now where I can do anything on the microphone." With his latest album, Bishop crafts a project that is a real representation of his versatility and all of the genres he’s been influenced by, from real rap to jazz.
