Before the 2019 XXL Freshman class will be revealed this summer, the Freshman hopefuls are here to show and prove why they deserve a spot in this year’s class. The 10th Spot voting will launch on March 25, which means hip-hop's rising newcomers are vying for a spot on the 2019 XXL Freshman cover.

Texas has had a crazy year in hip-hop, and Dallas native Yella Beezy is certainly one of the names at the forefront. His infectious 2018 hit, "That's On Me," broke onto the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at No. 86 last year after racking up plenty of radio plays. The song originally dropped in 2017, but Yella never gave up on his song, a strong metaphor for his approach to his career.

Even after facing tragedy when he was shot in 2018, the Dallas rapper kept on pushing, releasing his solo album through Hitco, Ain't No Goin Bacc, at the end of the year. This wrapped up a year where he performed at the 2018 BET Hip Hop Awards and did two dates on Beyoncé and Jay-Z's On The Run II Tour. Nothing can stop Yella Beezy from living out his dreams.

Now that you've heard his pitch, remember to vote for your favorite artist beginning March 25. The 2019 XXL Freshman 10th Spot will run for one week. This is where the public gets the chance to vote an artist into the XXL Freshman Class. Go here to make your vote count for your favorite artist.
