Before the 2019 XXL Freshman Class will be revealed this summer, the Freshman hopefuls are here to show and prove why they deserve a spot in this year’s class. The 10th Spot voting will launch on March 25, which means hip-hop's rising newcomers are vying for a spot on the 2019 XXL Freshman cover.

Shoreline Mafia is one of the waviest rap crews out. Founding member Ohgeesy is holding it down for the team while carving his own solo path. The 25-year-old Los Angeles native first met fellow group member Fenix Flexin in 2012 while doing graffiti. They later joined forces with Rob Vicious and Master Kato and began putting out music in 2016.

Their debut mixtape ShorelineDoThatShit followed in November 2017 and a deal with Atlantic Records came into fruition the following year. Tours and the projects Traplantic and Party Pack dropped last year. Lately, Ohgeesy has been spreading his wings with solo records. His October 2018 track “Homicide,” featuring Bandgang Lonnie Bands, has amassed more than 6 million streams on SoundCloud. His newest track, the 1 Take Jake-featured “Sucking and Fucking,” has surpassed 1 million listens.

Now that you've heard his pitch, remember to vote for your favorite artist beginning March 25. The 2019 XXL Freshman 10th Spot will run for one week. This is where the public gets the chance to vote an artist into the XXL Freshman Class. Go here to make your vote count for your favorite artist.
