Before the 2019 XXL Freshman class will be revealed this summer, the Freshman hopefuls are here to show and prove why they deserve a spot in this year’s class. The 10th Spot voting will launch on March 25, which means hip-hop's rising newcomers are vying for a spot on the 2019 XXL Freshman cover.

LouGotCash has hip-hop in his DNA. As the son of Pretty Lou, a member of the 1990s rap crew Lost Boyz, the 21-year-old rapper has been surrounded by rap his whole life. Reppin’ Southside Jamaica Queens, N.Y., Lou started in the family business via SoundCloud, putting out his first street hit, “Pipe Down,” featuring Remy Boy Monty in March 2016. Following the release of his June 2016 debut offering Lounited States of America, DJ Self’s Gwinin Entertainment acquired his services. He joined the Republic Records roster the following year.

With a solid flow and a melodic delivery, Lou’s stock has risen off the strength of follow-up projects Lounited States of America 2 (2017) and Louniversal (2018), collabs with Trippie Redd, Rich The Kid, Tee Grizzley, Jay Critch and DreamDoll, and the single “Make 10.” LGC has also made new fans via his performance at Power 105.1's 2018 Powerhouse concert and landed a spot on the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse Soundtrack.
