Before the 2019 XXL Freshman class will be revealed this summer, the Freshman hopefuls are here to show and prove why they deserve a spot in this year’s class. The 10th Spot voting will launch on March 25, which means hip-hop's rising newcomers are vying for a spot on the 2019 XXL Freshman cover.

Atlanta rapper Lil Keed is not only signed to Young Thug's YSL Records, but he also hails from the same Cleveland Avenue apartments where Thugger called home at one time, too. With a cosign from Thug, the self-described "slimeball" has cemented himself as one of the hottest new rappers to come from the ATL with the release of mixtapes Slime Avenue, Trapped on Cleveland 2 and Keed Talk to Em, all of which arrived in 2018.

Songs like the Code G-produced "Freak" featuring Persona, off Trapped on Cleveland 2, the boss-up anthem "Fetish (Remix)" with Thug and "Nameless," currently at over 5 million streams on Spotify, feature Keed's sing-song delivery and clarion vocals. On a more wider level, Keed, 20, got noticed by rap fans worldwide when Thugger formally introduced him on the YSL compilation project, Slime Language, last year. Next up for Keed, he plans to drop a new project, Studio Junkie, aptly titled since he prides himself on the hours he puts in the booth every day.
