Before the 2019 XXL Freshman class will be revealed this summer, the Freshman hopefuls are here to show and prove why they deserve a spot in this year’s class. The 10th Spot voting will launch on March 25, which means hip-hop's rising newcomers are vying for a spot on the 2019 XXL Freshman cover.

Kid Trunks was handpicked by XXXTentacion to be a rapper. Now he’s the self-professed “best Asian rapper alive.” The youngest member of XXX’s Members Only crew, Trunks, 18, is a Fort Lauderdale, Fla. native who has been getting more and more shine. His debut project, The Kid Before Trunks, came out in 2017 and later that year he earned stripes performing alongside X at the 2017 Rolling Loud Bay Area Festival.

Trunks’ 2018 follow-up Super Saiyan provided more push. The offering featured the buzzworthy tracks “Love Never Blossoms,” “Not Legal” featuring Robb Bank$, Ski Mask The Slump God, Warhol.ss and A$AP Ant, and his most streamed song to date, “IDK,” which has more than 11 million views on YouTube. Trunks spent last summer touring the country with Ski Mask The Slump God and earned more credits via the Members Only Vol. 4 project released in January.

Now that you've heard his pitch, remember to vote for your favorite artist beginning March 25. The 2019 XXL Freshman 10th Spot will run for one week. This is where the public gets the chance to vote an artist into the Freshman Class. Go here to make your vote count for your favorite artist.
