Nipsey Hussle, 2 Chainz, YBN Cordae and More: Videos This Week

2018 was a monumental year for not just hip-hop but the videos that showcased the creative vision and artistic flair from some of the game's brightest stars. Rappers really put their best foot forward with the visuals last year, and 2019 looks to carry that same momentum forward. Expect the biggest stars to those on the come up to release new videos that will be well worth your time. Kick the new year off with XXL as we round up the new videos from this week.

Nipsey Hussle had the 2018 of his dreams, with his long-awaited debut album, Victory Lap, releasing to critical acclaim and also earning him a Grammy nomination for Rap Album of the Year. Right at the end of 2018, he dropped the video for the album's title track, which features singer Stacy Barthe. In the visual, Nipsey switches between a vacation in Tulum and hanging in the familiar streets of L.A., showing both the luxuries he can now experience and the hometown he'll never leave behind. The video is well-shot and properly shows Nip as someone who's truly reaping the fruits of their labor.

Last year, 2 Chainz dropped a two-song release titled Hot Wings Are a Girl's Best Friend, then made videos for both songs. The "Girls Best Friend" video came in December; now it's time for "Hot Wings." Fittingly, the video takes place in and outside of a chicken spot, where 2 Chainz gets in touch with the people. Eventually, he handles a flamethrower on the roof of a high-rise building and gets a little loose with it.

YBN Cordae is certainly one of the surging talents from the back half of 2018. His buzz hasn't let up for months now and he's come a very long way. With how great his still young journey has been, it's only right that he rehashes the past year with the video for "What's Life," his newest song. He's kicking it with the rest of the YBN crew, performing the song in a studio and much more. For someone so young, he understands the gravity of what he's pulling off right now.
