Travis Scott Shares Release Date and Trailer for ‘Astroworld’ Album

Two years after announcing the album title, Travis Scott's Astroworld finally has a release date. According to a tweet sent by La Flame on Monday (July 30), the long-awaited project is set to release on Aug. 3.

Along with the release date, Scott also shared a cinematic trailer for the upcoming album, which features a preview of the unreleased song, "Stargazing." In the video, Travis can be seen walking through a snow-filled world as the planets orbit around him. The Houston rapper is later transported to a post-apocalyptic world.

While riding around in a shopping cart as fire balls fly past him, Scott can be heard rapping, "Rollin', rollin', rollin', got me stargazin' (roll)/Psychedelics got me goin' crazy (oh no)... Gettin' jealous/Propane repellent (it's lit, got me goin' crazy)." In the video's description, the rapper adds, "MAKE SURE U HAVE SEASON PASSES READY INVITING ALL RAGERS."

Following the release of the trailer, Scott sent out another tweet, expressing his excitement about the upcoming album. "#ASTROWORLD FUCKING READY TO LOOSE MY SHIT IN A COUPLE DAYS. LEGIT BLOWING ANY AND EVERY SPEAKER I CAN FIND," he wrote. "KIDS LETS FUCKING EAT."

Ahead of Travis' tweet on Monday, producer Mike Dean let the news of the release date out a few days early. Replying to a person who asked if Astroworld would change lives, Dean said on Aug. 3 "you're gonna shit your fucking pants."

Originally announced in 2016, Scott has been hyping up the album for months now. The last time we heard about Astroworld, the Houston rhymer was headed to Hawaii with Dean, Gunna and more to finish up the album. The upcoming project will serve as a follow-up to Scott's 2016 solo album, Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight.

While not much else is known about Astroworld at the moment, Scott did confirm to Zane Lowe on Monday that Sheck Wes will be appearing on the project. "I will say that Sheck Wes is on the album," the rapper told Lowe.
