Today (June 27), XXXTentacion's fans, friends and family traveled to Sunrise, Fla.'s BB&T Center to pay their final respects at an open-casket public memorial for the slain rapper. XXXTentacion was shot and killed after leaving Deerfield Beach, Fla.'s Riva Motorsports during an apparent robbery last week.

The event, which is set to begin at noon and last until 6 p.m. EST, provides the opportunity for fans to say goodbye to the rapper, whose emotional music touched the lives of people across the globe. People reportedly starting lining up at 7 a.m. A special X tribute video, which was created by Justin Staple and Tyler Benz, will be played with audio during the first hour of the memorial for the controversial artist. Music will be provided by X's longtime DJ, DJ Scheme. No cameras or phones will be allowed inside of the venue.

This public memorial, which will be attended by X's family, friends and fellow rappers is the latest in what has been a series of tributes commemorating the short, but explosive legacy of the rapper born Jahseh Dwayne Ricardo Onfroy. Local news outlets report that security at the venue is expecting 19,000 people to attend.

One day after his passing, fans gathered at the location where XXXTentacion was shot and left candles, flowers, and other items to pay tribute. This past Monday, Lil Yachty held a candlelit vigil for the rapper at Atlanta's Centennial Park.

While the case of X's murder has yet to be solved, police have made significant progress over the last week. On Wednesday night (June 20), the Broward Sheriff's Office confirmed to XXL that 22-year-old Dedrick Williams had been arrested for the killing of X and charged with first-degree murder, probation violation for theft of a motor vehicle and driving without a valid license.

In an arrest report for Williams, police say that Williams may have been the person driving the dark-colored SUV that cut off XXX's vehicle and allowed two gunmen to rob and attack the rapper. Police have issued warrants for two more suspects—the alleged gunmen—in the case but have yet to make any arrests. On Monday (June 25), Williams pled not guilty to the murder of X. Today (June 27), police named a second person of interest, 22-year-old Robert Allen, in connection to X's murder.
