Ski Mask The Slump God Recalls Nomad Days With XXXTentacion

Just a few days before the death of XXXTentacion on Monday (June 18), Ski Mask The Slump God sat down with Lyrical Lemonade for an interview that was posted on June 15. During the conversation, the 2018 XXL Freshman was asked what he had to go through to make his dream a reality and brought up the tough times he went through with X.

"At the time me and X met, we weren't homeless but we were basically homeless. Like, we were just like, nomads," he said. "We seen it as us together building something that we never got... Just put your mind to something and see how it goes."

The rapper also spoke about reuniting with XXXTentacion at the 2018 Rolling Loud festival after the relationship between the two had soured. According to Ski, it was a tense moment as he had not seen or spoken to X in quite some time. "It was a tense moment seeing X again... I haven't seen X or spoken to X since other times of us not being on good terms," he said. "Seeing him was funny to me. He came kind of angry, he wasn't really trying to talk. It was great though."

XXXTentacion was shot on Monday (June 18) while in his car outside a motorcycle shop in Deerfield Beach, Fla. He was transported to Broward Health North but pronounced dead shortly later. As of now, there have been no arrests in his murder.

The "DoIHaveTheSause?" rapper also hinted at making new music again with XXXTentacion, but added that he wasn't sure if it would happen because their relationship wasn't back to normal yet. "If we ever make music again, he said, "that shit gonna be viral and very crazy and hard. The energy that me and that nigga create is undeniable, definitely."
