Mickey Factz Relives His Humble Beginnings in “Get It” Video

Mickey Factz has come a long way, and he's looking back on how far he's progressed over the years in his latest music video for "Get It," a song featured on his Nottz collan project The Achievement. The New York native heads back home to the Bronx with his mother, where he relives the battles he faced while pursuing a career in music.

The Mr Good Evening-directed video starts off with Mickey inside of what appears to be his childhood home, set in the year 2006, before we see him leave after his mom kicks him out. The rapper then finds himself inside of a school lecture hall, balancing reading a textbook and a magazine. Fast forward to his mother's house again, where Mickey holds a copy of the 2009 XXL Freshman cover, which he appears on. The rest of the visuals show his mom reading the magazine and sporting a proud facial expression after seeing the success of her son's music.

XXL spoke with Mickey Factz to get to the root of the video's inspiration and why he decided to take things back. "We wanted to basically recreate my life in 2006," Factz states. "Me attempting to turn my life around using music as the direct platform."

He also talks about what he's got coming up for the rest of the year, which includes projects, videos and more.

"More projects," he shares. "More videos. More content. Giving the people consistent quality music. The New Museum is currently out. I have an EP titled Therapy produced solely by 100 Bulletz dropping in June and a mixtape entitled I Said Yo dropping on my birthday, July 13th."
