Iggy Azalea is calling the U.S. home for good. On Thursday (March 15), the Australian rapper jumped onto social media to announce that she'd secured herself a U.S. green card that makes her a permanent resident of the United States.

Iggy first moved to the U.S. all the way back in 2006 to pursue a rap career, and getting her green card has been a long time coming. She sounded more than a little excited in a video she uploaded to her Instagram story.

"Tell them the news, because we're all immigrants. Immigrant club!" says Iggy, who dropped off her new single, "Savior," just a little while back. "I got accepted into America forever! I just got my stamp!"

While Iggy's happy to have secured herself a permanent place in the U.S., more than a few folks on Twitter felt some type of way about her new status. "Iggy Azelia getting a green card to be a permanent resident is fucking bullshit," wrote one Twitter user, echoing the sentiments of others on the internet.

One Twitter user had Iggy's back, though, acknowledging the hard work the rapper put in to land herself a permanent spot in the U.S.  Iggy agreed with her.

"Seriously! I’ve been here 12 years! only just got approved! been paying my fed & state taxes etc but can’t vote or have a say how it’s spent. Some people are SO miserable.
Y’all would be happy for me to get deported back to a country I only know 4 ppl in though! I worked hard," Iggy wrote in a tweet Thursday.
