Riding the success of his 21 Savage-assisted single, "Rockstar," Post Malone covers yet another rock song. During a recent show, the Texas native brought out his guitar to turn in a cover of Green Day's 1994 single, "Basket Case."

For his version of the track, Post slows down the pace of the original guitar riffs considerably, while obviously employing his own vocal stylings. It's a pretty solid rendition, and it shows that Post is serious about his love for all sorts of music.

Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong caught wind of Post's performance, tweeting the video with his approval: "Hey this is pretty cool!"

Based on the footage, Post looks like he's in pretty good spirits after his failed stage dive attempt a short while ago. Leaping from the edge of the stage, Post was surprised to see the crowd part like the Red Sea as opposed to making a human baseball glove. He took it like a G, though, continuing to perform as he remained on the ground.

After the performance, Post tweeted that he "felt like jack black in school of rock tonight when i staged dived and nobody caught my fat ass. wish i had lil uzi body."

Post might have taken that very minor L, but these days, he's been stacking up W's left and right. Recently, the rapper's newest single, "Rockstar," broke Apple Music's single-week streaming record with over 25 million plays. It also debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
