Kevin Gates channels Salvador Dali with his new video for "Time for That," watches and other timepieces warping beneath the desert sun. The Louisiana rapper inhabits run-down buildings and ghost towns, rapping the Islah cut, which follows "2 Phones" and "Really Really" as his latest single.

In late July, "2 Phones" went double platinum, and now all of Islah has been certified platinum, exceeding 1 million equivalent sales. It is the first debut album released in 2016 to reach the milestone. The album first dropped in January, moving 110,00 units its first week. What's more, there isn't a single a feature on the project,

For Gates, the news is just the latest achievement in what has been an otherwise breakout year that saw him make his late night TV debut on Conan and land a track on the Suicide Squad soundtrack. Gates will keep the momentum going into the fall, as he's slated to perform at the upcoming Roots Picnic in New York City's Bryant Park come Oct. 1. Gates recently wrapped the nationwide “High Road Tour,” alongside Wiz Khalifa and Snoop Dogg.

As much as any rapper out today, Gates is finding success his own way and the music continues to resonate with fans as his sales grow.
