It's that time of the year again and the third season of Starz' Power is on the way. Ghost, Kanan, and Angela are back for more plot twists, takeovers and schemes. With the past two seasons setting chart-topping records for the Starz network, fans are more excited than ever for the approaching season after waiting nearly a year since season two left off with Ghost and Tommy at odds, Kanan possibly dead and Angela's career on the line.

The third season is sure to be packed with three times the drama and thrill, but according to creator Courtney A. Kemp, fans will also see the death of a major character in the coming episodes.  "I think there were some very difficult moments this year," Courtney A. Kemp said in an exclusive sit-down with XXL. "There were some deaths that were really harrowing to shoot, really hard to shoot. We lost some characters this year that are really part of the family."  50 cent's character, Kanan, is apparently still alive and will "rise from the ashes," as last season ended with 50 trapped in a burning building. As far as Ghost and Angela, everybody's guilty pleasure, actors Omari Hardwick and Lela Loren explained that the couple will still be fighting for their love this season. "She's fighting for that seed in him that she knows is still good," says Lela who plays Angela about Ghost.

XXL actually got a lot more Power details in our sit-down and not just about the third season but about the franchise overall. Courtney and 50 revealed that a Kanan movie will likely hit theaters after the series wraps, a la Sex and the City. Omari and Lela speak about the excessive hate they sometimes receive from viewers because of their fictional love affair on the show. Watch the two interviews with the Power cast above and below.

The third season of Power airs July 17 on Starz.
