Usher Starts a Social Movement with “Chains” Video Featuring Nas and Bibi Bourelly

Four months after dropping an interactive video for their collab, Usher, Nas and Bibi Bourelly give "Chains" the full visual treatment. Directed by Film the Future, "Chains" is a harrowing look at the plight faced by young black men who are racially profiled, abused and killed by white police. Likening modern-day policing to slavery and fueled by the senseless shootings that plague the United States, Usher releases his pent-up frustration in the form of a powerful music video.

"'Chains' is my way of spreading light on issues we face in our social injustice system," Usher wrote on Instagram. "As artists we have to use our platform to spread awareness and inspire action. Usher has teamed up with Harry Belafonte to start a new social movement by calling on artists and performers to use their voice and platform to shed light on pressing issues and inspire action.

"The Hub is a dynamic central online destination for communities, organizations, thought leaders, artists, activists and allies to organize, connect and communicate to build a more effective social movement," the website's mission statement says. "By providing a highly visible framework The Hub utilizes technology, information and culture to encourage and coordinate users to; act, learn, share and create to build transformational power. We believe that the principles of focused non-violent direct movements are the guiding force that will lead us toward a peaceful, just and sustainable global society."
