Last night (Oct. 6) the Houston Astros did something everyone has wanted to do at some point in their lives: knock the New York Yankees out of the playoffs. Never one to rest on his laurels, Paul Wall keeps his city's momentum going today with the release of his new video, "Swangin in the Rain." Taken from his latest LP, slab godthe clip exists in Wall's familiar idyllic Houston, where the storefronts drip candy paint and grills are still a viable side-hustle. The song, produced by Scoop DeVille, samples Shalamar's "This is For the Lover in You" and serves as yet another beautiful ode to impractical ways of driving. This past month marked the ten-year anniversary of The People's Champ, the album that introduced Wall to a national audience during the short-lived Houston takeover of the mainstream. That wave was precipitated by "Still Tippin," the Mike Jones song that also featured Slim Thug, on which Paul replaced Chamillionaire for the radio version.
