SXSW is still going strong in Austin, Texas and last night (March 16) was a movie on South Padre Island starring Tory Lanez. The “L.A. Confidential" singer, who is known for his energetic and vibrant performances, was on 1000 when he decided he wasn’t going to perform on the stage, but rather in the air has fans carried him through the crowd.

Fans went ballistic as Lanez used one hand and then the other to hold his balance on top of people as he crowd surfed while he performed his hit “Diego.” One concertgoer got the show on video and it looked like everyone was down to help the shirtless rapper with his unconventional set. Performing while standing on top of the crowd has become a staple for Lanez, who likes to interact with his fans as much as possible during his shows. It looks hazardous but he always seems to get back onstage.

But at a previous show, Lanez wasn’t so lucky. While performing his Brownstone-sampled “Say It” in his hometown of Toronto in February, Lanez almost caught an L after the balcony he was sitting on collapsed seconds after he jumped off of it. Although he wasn’t injured and shot down rumors that he had fallen via Twitter, it still could have been one nasty accident. But clearly that won’t stop him. This is only the beginning.

The Intersccope signee also performed at the Spotify House on Monday night (March 14). Rather than just sing and rap, Lanez focused on getting the crowd as hype as possible. It looks like when it comes to concerts and shows, turning up is the new rapping. We can't say that we're mad about it either.
