Another year, another Eminem Week, and this was one for the ages. It started with Em releasing his highly anticipated The Marshall Mathers LP 2, which will go down as one of the most polarizing hip-hop albums in quite some time. It finished with the news that Em’s childhood home, which was featured on the cover of MMLP2, was caught on fire and that a Chicago rap group released a diss track toward him. Talk about an up-and-down week for the Detroit MC.

Elsewhere, Drake got another platinum plaque, Turk called out his former running buddies and DMX and Chief Keef were arrested – again.

These are the top headlines of the week.

Hotstylz Releases Eminem Diss Track “Rap Fraud”

Chicago's Hotstylz is angry at Eminem for “stealing” its flow on “Rap God.” Em referenced a number of lines from the group’s 2007 hit “Lookin Boy” on the song and did not give the group any credit, its members are claiming. So they decided to release a diss track, the cleverly titled “Rap Fraud,” which features Hotstylz going in over a number of instrumentals from past Eminem hits. The diss is surprisingly funny at points, but, as shown by the article’s comment section, Eminem fans were not impressed.

Drake’s ‘Nothing Was The Same’ Goes Platinum
Drizzy’s critically acclaimed third album, Nothing Was The Same, went platinum this week, meaning the Toronto MC is a perfect three for three in selling over a million units with each of his projects.

Turk Calls Out Lil Wayne, Birdman and Mannie Fresh For Not Supporting Him
Things are not perfect in the Cash Money family. Early in the week, Turk, one of the founding members of the Hot Boyz, released a video and an Instagram post calling out Juvenile, Lil Wayne and Mannie Fresh, along with Cash Money founders Birdman and Ronald “Slim” Williams, for failing to support him in a time of need. The video he posted finds the rapper making a simple confessional to the camera, explaining that he reached out to the men on multiple occasions after his father passed away and heard nothing back. Turk spoke about the incident to XXL later in the week, clearing the air and saying that while he was hurt, it was actually a message of “love and peace.”

DMX Arrested While Driving Again, Yes Again
DMX has had some ruff riding in 2013. X was arrested Monday night for the fourth time this year in South Carolina. This time he got picked up at the Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport and was charged with three counts: driving with a suspended license, driving without insurance and no tag on his car.

Eminem’s Childhood Home Caught On Fire
Just days after it was featured on the cover of The Marshall Mathers LP 2, Eminem’s childhood home was found in flames. No word yet on what caused the fire, but things smell a little fishy, especially because the house was located in Detroit, which has a history of arson-related crimes (Devil’s Night, anyone?).

Chief Keef Ordered To Scoop Up Horse Poop
There was a lot of speculation this week surrounding what Chief Keef’s punishment would be for violating his probation. It was revealed that Keef has been ordered to conduct 60 hours of community service — at a Chicago-area equestrian center. The center, titled Horsefeathers, uses horses to provide physical therapy for people with disabilities. The Chicago MC, who violated his probation by failing two recent drug tests, will be feeding and grooming the animals, as well as cleaning up their droppings.
