Competitive by nature, Dax is up for just about any challenge. “I don’t care about what label people give me,” says the 25-year-old rapper behind the singles “She Cheated Again” and “Dear God.” “You can put me up against whoever else. I don’t care if I’m a YouTube rapper or if someone is a SoundCould or Spotify rapper. I think the things I do speak for themselves in terms of how I should be viewed.” The YouTube sensation, who also went hard in the paint as a Division 1 college athlete, proves he’s ready to go bar for bar in a freestyle for XXL’s What I Do? series.

“Name a nigga that can do it better/Name a nigga rapping in a wife beater instead of a Gucci sweater/U.K., getting double cheddar/Everything is double measured/Even when I’m riding it’s in double-deckers/But I won’t let up/You must stop because you can’t catch up/No choice, but you must let us/They say pressure builds diamonds, I guess that I’m applying pressure,” raps Dax.

The Los Angeles-based, Canadian-bred artist with over 1.5 million subscribers on YouTube has brought in impressive numbers with the visual for his latest song “Dear God.” Within the first 24 hours of its release, the video was viewed more than 1 million times. According to the former altar boy and self-proclaimed conscious rapper, who has worked with Tech N9ne, OT Genasis and Hopsin, his letter to God was drafted and shared in hopes that it “creates a healthy discussion.”

Dax, who is wrapping up his first headlining tour, just dropped his latest track, “Self Proclaimed 3.” You can catch him kick a freestyle in the video below.
