Baltimore rapper Tate Kobang grabs The LOX for a new version of "Bank Rolls Freestyle." Sheek Louch, Styles P and Jadakiss each go off on the new record. The uptempo song maintains its pop and high energy but gets a New York City edge that will make hip-hop heads appreciate the jam. How did this mega-collab come together? Tate explains.

"A while back their engineer hit me in my DM and said they wanted to jump on the track and freestyle to it," He said. "[A] few weeks later they sent my manager the freestyle.. and they went crazy on it." Bump the song above.

Kobang became a name to watch out for when the 20-something-year-old MC dropped “Bank Rolls" last summer. The song was a remake of rapper Tim Trees’ 2000 local smash of the same name which was produced by Baltimore club artist Rod Lee. To make things even more Interestingly, the song was released on the same day 25-year-old Freddie Gray died after being in a week-long coma after being badly beating by the Baltimore City Police Department. In an interview with Noisey, Tate Kobang explains the day the song dropped.

“We honestly wasn’t even gonna put the song out but it’s a feel good record and we was trying to bring some happiness to the city,” Tate said. “Baltimore been a depressing place for years now. The world just got wind, but we been going through this shit forever. All this just going on? No! Niggas die everyday.”

Since then, pictures popped up of Tate standing next to music industry legend Lyor Cohen, celebrating his recent signing to 300 Entertainment. Tate just finished his tour with fellow 300 artists T-Wayne, TK N Cash, Rejjie Snow and Rich The Kid plus released his freestyle to “Jump Man” late last year. Now the buzzing rhyme-slinger is gearing up to release his new EP this year and the sky is the limit.
