Bhad Bhabie started out as a meme and became a rapper. The meme part began in September of 2016. That’s when the then-13-year-old internet sensation and her mother appeared on an episode of Dr. Phil. During the episode, which focused on her purported string of bad behavior at home, she issued a challenge to audience members that mocked her, saying: "Catch me outside, how ’bout that?" Because of her accent, the phrase came out sounding like, "Cash me ousside," and soon thereafter, she became known as the Cash Me Ousside Girl.
She took advantage of both her interest in rap and the virality of the moment, and became a rapper. In late 2017, she crystallized her transition to prospective rap star when she released "These Heaux," a swaggering, melodic single that peaked at No. 77 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Her follow up single, "Hi Bich," topped that one by ending up at No. 66. By that point, she’d signed a deal with Atlantic Records, only further solidifying her viability as a potential rap star.
After releasing "Gucci Flip Flops" with Lil Yachty in 2018, she went on to release her debut mixtape, 15. After 2019, her musical output began to slow. After turning 18 in 2021, she launched her own OnlyFans account, a NSFW content creation platform where she claimed to have made $1 million in only six hours. She has claimed to have made $50 million off the platform.
