Philly's own Chill Moody drops his new EP Before I Take Off today (March 15). His new four-track project only features one person, Modesty, and is completely produced by JakeOne. He drops off the project, just hours before he took off to SXSW in Austin, Texas.

"So i'm headed down to perform at South by South West (SXSW) tomorrow and decided I wanted to drop something special for #MoodyMonday," he said in an email. "One of my favorite producers, Jake One, just dropped an instrumental album called "Prayer Hands Emoji", and the beats are all dope. I decided to rhyme over a couple of them and release a short EP i'm calling "Before I Take Off". I wrote and recorded this whole jawn in one day, my youngbul BSide Music engineered, the homie Modesty came through and blessed a track, [FxM] Designs came through in the clutch with the artwork, and now we are presenting it to you. We hope you enjoy."

If you're at SXSW this week check out Chill Moody at any of these three shows. Peep the flyer below. Every Monday in 2016 Chill drops new content for #MoodyMonday. If you know Chill Moody, than you know how close much he cherish Philadelphia. In a interview last year with The Philadelphia Tribune, the Overbrook native explains why he maintained his Philadelphia roots.

“My whole motive is to make it so that, later down the road, no one will ask any other artist from Philly if they feel like they have to leave Philly to make it,” he said. “We’re the fifth-largest city in the United States yet, for some reason, some people feel as though they have to leave [Philly] to make it; things should be made here, America was made in Philly.”
