According to a statement from the rapper's lawyer, Jamal "Rock" Bush, one half of Boot Camp-affiliated group Heltah Skeltah, was released from Rikers Island today (January 24) after posting a $125,000 bond. He was indicted on assault and attempted murder charges, and he is still scheduled for an arraignment in Brooklyn Supreme Court within the the next month.

As XXLMag.com previously reported, Rock was arrested on January 15 after authorities accused him of shooting an alleged pimp and gang member in the neck on a Brooklyn street, causing paralysis. Authorities believe that Rock is also a pimp, and that the shooting was a result of an argument over a prostitute. "Rock vehemently denies all charges and patiently awaits his day in court," said his attorney, Kenneth Montgomery.

In related news, Rock is staying busy by preparing his solo mixtape, Shell Shock, which will feature appearances from Sean Price, Buckshot, Smif N Wessun, Rustee Juxx and more. He is also working with Sean Price on the long-awaited Heltah Skeltah reunion album D.I.R.T. (Da Incredible Rap Team).
