Rappers with co-signs can often lead to bigger things. This past April, Meek Mill has tweeted about a young boy from Philly named Kur. The 20-year-old MC embodies the street aesthetic the city is know for. Plus, his rapid-fire delivery is a strong sign he's about to go places. 33 shots and counting.

Name: Kur (pronounced "CORE")

Age: 20

Hometown: Philly

I grew up listening to: State Property, Jadakiss, Jay Z, Drake, Lauryn Hill, OutKast, Lil Wayne, and Meek Mill.

Most people don't know: That besides making street records, I actually enjoy making deep, thoughtful, depressing, real life music more, the street is music is cool, but that deep music, for example, my song "Everything I Wasn't" or my freestyle "Alone" was tracks I enjoyed the most. Because it's like you're letting everything out. That was my venting point.

My style's been compared to: Drake, Meek Mill, for the most part. A lot of people compare me to Drake, but they say I'm like a "hood version" of him, because I'm versatile with my music.

My standout records and/or moments to date have been: "Upside Down Cakes." This came about around the time Drake dropped his "Pound Cake." I had made my own idea up in Philly, rap about all the situations I had with girls in Philly, and rap about situations I wanted to happen in Philly. It was different and I got a lot of credit because it wasn't done before. I named girls I used to mess with, wanted to mess with, wouldn't mess with, but it was girls who were known in Philly, so it made a big impact on the Philly rap scene.

My goal in Hip-Hop is: To do new creativity things that hadn't been done. For example more ideas like my "Upside Down Cakes" or my "Heaven Or Hell," where instead of talking or downing somebody else, I talked about my self, and how I was a piece of trash, or at least that's how I felt at the time.

I'm gonna be the next: The next person to change the game, and do it how it wanted to do it.
