Today (Nov. 7), we get to hear a brand new track from the late Lil Peep. Weeks after his "Cry Alone" video dropped, the estate of the young rapper, who passed away after a drug overdose nearly a year ago to the day, has released a new single called "Life Is Beautiful," which will appear on his upcoming posthumous album, Come Over When You're Sober, Pt. 2.

"Life Is Beautiful" is a track that finds Peep juxtaposing varying types of misfortune with the idea that life is still good. "Trying to keep your cool at your grandfather's funeral/Finding out eventually the feeling wasn't mutual/You were not invited, 'cause you're nothing like the usual/Isn't life beautiful? I think that life is beautiful," Peep half-sings in the hook for the song.

In a press release for the song, Peep's mother Liza Womack speaks on the newly released track.

“This song does have irony, but it also tells many truths. Gus was exploring his feelings and experiences in this song," says Womack, who refers to Peep by a nickname for his born name, Gustav Elijah Ahr. "He was making observations about his own life, and the lives of others. My favorite line is ‘And if you ever need a friend, then you got me.’ Because it is true. Gus was a very loyal and supportive friend. That is one reason why he was so well loved.”

"Life Is Beautiful" was accompanied by an animated lyric video. It's directed by frequent Peep collaborator Mezzy and shot by Will Siberfeld.

Lil Peep's upcoming posthumous album Come Over When You're Sober, Pt. 2 drops Nov. 9. Listen to "Life Is Beautiful" and watch the lyric video below.
