IshDARR pulls up with colorful new visual for "Never Ask (Subpar Funk)," a cut from the Milwaukee rapper's forthcoming new project, and XXL's got the exclusive premiere.

Directed by Brett Schmidt, the visual finds IshDARR operating at what appears to be a casino as flashes of neon pink lights flash across the game table he and his friends are playing at. In between shots of Ish operating in boss mode, we see clips of his presumed lover either standing in isolated places or sitting silently in front of a TV that isn't working.

The track itself, which was produced by Bizness Boi and features co-production from Johnny Yukon & Canis Major, is one about IshDARR's flailing romance. "So tell me girl, are you gon' change/Forever yours, despite my ways," Ish half-croons on the track, which carries a bouncy old-school instrumental. Ish says the beat pointed him in the direction for the track.

"Inspiration [for] the song was really from the beat itself," Ish tells XXL. "[It] Reminded me of a nostalgic, early old school love song. The video helped portray it with the colors and plot. I knew exactly what I wanted the video to look [like] as soon as I heard the beat."

Ish says the new song and visual align with his new project. "This fits the vibe and feel of my next project as being in a lane of its own as each song is," offers Ish. "The thing I love about this new project is that you can listen to each song on its own but it also works seamlessly as a body of work. I can’t wait for the world to hear it!"
