Kevin Gates gets love across the country, something he made clear in his new "Vouch" video released on Monday (Aug. 6).

The visual finds the Baton Rouge, La. native touring the Watts section of Los Angeles. Director Julien Soulier splices naturalistic footage of everyday life with clips of Gates dapping up locals, among them NBA star and Compton native DeMar DeRozan, and rapping while rolling down the street on a moving couch.

Over an up-tempo beat from Go Grizzly, Gates reflects on the circumstances that landed him in prison for felony gun possession. The "2 Phones" spitter was released after nine months in January. He also address life as a free man searching for industry support.

"I thought we was under that law but your nephew's an informant/Put the folks in my business, gotta set court appointments/Gotta suit up with lawyers, damn, this how we rockin'/They copyrighted my name and wanted 1 million dollars/The label laughed in my face, I had to pay out my pocket/Young Money closed the door and ain't nobody wanna sign me," he croons.

"Vouch" is the final track from Kevin's three-song May EP Chained to the City to receive a video. "Change Lanes," directed by Cole Bennett, marked his return to the screen, and was followed by a visual for "Let It Sing."

These are Gates' only releases since earning his freedom, although he revealed on Instagram last month that Luca Brasi 3 is coming soon.
