Gashi Remembers His Days as a Custodian on New Song “Blame It on the Bag”

Building off the momentum of his breakout hit “Disrespectful,” Gashi is putting his life’s musings on wax with his latest offering “Blame It on the Bag.”

Channeling his humble beginnings as a custodian and the lavish life which followed, the Brooklyn native certainly isn’t holding back. "Stackin' this money, but I still can't forget the past/Stack it up and save it 'cause this rap shit never lasts/Never spittin' no lies 'cause you know this shit is facts/Muthafuckas are mad 'cause they never scratched my back," Gashi spits.

The Felix Leon-produced track is set to be featured on his forthcoming EP, Stairs 2. Ahead of its release, Gashi has also gifted fans with a rolodex of new singles, including “Used to Be,” “1134” and “Roof In The Trunk” featuring Leeky Bandz. If his latest vid wasn't an indication of his hard work, it’s clear the burgeoning rap artist has no intentions of slowing down anytime soon.

The colorful lyric video for the song begins with a clip of the RCA recording artist unloading trash from the apartment complex which him and his family once lived in. During the brief video montage, Gashi explains how signing a management deal with Roc Nation was going to change his life exponentially, and according to the vivid scenes that follow—which include the 28-year-old making it rain with $100 bills—the "No, No, No" rapper was right on the money.
