The Norwegian production duo known as Stargate has brought their hit-making expertise into the hip-hop world many times throughout their illustrated discography and on Wednesday (April 25), Tor Hermansen and Mikkel Eriksen connect with Murda Beatz behind the boards and pair 21 Savage with PartyNextDoor on "1Night."

The track premiered as Zane Lowe's World Record for the day over at Beats1 and the producers joined him for an interview describing the inspiration behind the superstar collaboration.

"You know, the whole reason we came to America in the first place was because we’ve always loved hip hop. We grew up loving hip hop, listening to hip hop in Norway, I was in Oslo and Mikkel was in Trondheim and it was just a lifelong dream," Hermansen explained. "So now to be able to, you know, years later come here and make the records that we really always wanted to make is really a full circle moment and a dream come true."

21 Savage handles the track's opening verse letting everyone know he's nowhere near ready to settle down with a woman and tie the knot. "You say that you a wifey but you never could be mine/One night, one night/It might be the best night of your life/They say I need to settle down, I tried/Savage gettin' married, phew, yeah, right," he monotonously rhymes.

PND echoes 21's sentiment about being noncommittal in relationships at the moment. "Shawty on the low been gettin' money in and out/Shawty from the zoo, an animal like In-N-Out/I ain't 'bout commitment, show you what this pimpin' 'bout/If they ain't told you, I'ma tell you," Party croons.

21 Savage has kept busy in 2018 with an unwavering work ethic. The Savage Mode MC made a cameo at last weekend's Coachella to perform alongside Post Malone and Cardi B. Earlier in April, the recent XXL cover artist assisted Sahbabii on his new track "Outstanding."
