As 2017 set to close its doors, Pell dropped his girasoul EP after a two-year hiatus. Since then he's been relatively quiet, but has now reappeared with the remix to the EP's hit single, "chirpin'," released March 30.

The New Orleans spitter linked fellow hometown natives Neno Calvin and Tarriona “Tank” Ball of Tank & the Bangas for his first track of 2018. Pell rattles off a new verse, which caters to his NoLa affiliates. "If ya from the NOLA swear i wanna know ya/Without ya I’d feel blue, you know my feelings color coated/I’d ride for you, say a couple prayers at night for you/Saying thats there’s nothing that I could do without you/And even since i went and changed my lease, hit my line if you in need, New Orleans," he spits.

Tank's soothing vocals switch up midway as she alters her vocals on the first verse, while Neno Calvin closes out the track with a reflective bridge. "I woke up before them birds started chirpin', I been stressin but I'm flexin you ain't notice/I been through some shit I know you can't cope with, don't come questioning my thoughts stay focused," he rhymes.

When XXL spoke with Pell in December, the "golden" rapper said an album may come this year. "I’m switching up on things in terms of how I’m just coming," he told us. "I'm gonna be using the internet more, hopefully—even though I don’t think I should, personally [laughs]."

Stay tuned for more from the NoLa artist, and peep the "chirpin' (remix)" below.
