Cozz Drops ‘Effected’ Album Featuring J. Cole and More

Cozz is back. Today (Feb. 13), the Los Angeles rapper pulls up with Effected, his debut album and his second release on J. Cole's Dreamville Records.

Checking in at 14 tracks, the new project features appearances from Cole, Kendrick Lamar, Curren$y and Garren. It also includes production from his longtime collaborator, Meez, Enimal, Louie Ji, and Soul Professa, along with plenty of the lyricism that probably led Cole to sign him in the first place.

Accompanying Cozz's debut album is the Darius Turbak-directed short documentary Cozz: Effected. The doc takes us on a trip through Cozz's L.A. upbringing, where we meet his sister and childhood friends.

In Cozz Effected, we learn a little bit more about Cozz's writing process, some of the first times he wrote raps and his life as a lowkey troublemaker at home. It's a mini-documentary in the same vein as Cozz's Dreamville labelmate Lute's Still Slummin.
