Since releasing You Only Live 2wice album earlier this year, Freddie Gibbs has been keeping to himself. Most recently, Gibbs linked with French producer FEYNMAN for a new song titled "The Wave." The track will off FEYNMAN's upcoming project, Illusions II.

On "The Wave," Gangsta Gibbs doesn't miss a beat. "Took the seats out the SS/I ripped it out/Put my shit on Xzibit/I pimped it out/Turn your bitch to a gymnast/She flippin' now/Freddie Kane, neck and wrist/Got that drippy drop," he raps. Gibbs' sound works very well with production from FEYNMAN.

Fans are waiting patiently for Freddie Gibbs and Madlib to follow up their collaborative album Piñata. That album, which was released in 2014, was critically acclaimed and universally regarded as one of the top albums of that year.

Earlier this year, Gibbs spoke to XXL about his chemistry with Madlib and why they work so well.

"I think that with me and Madlib, I was never afraid to really experiment with his tracks and things," he explains. "It’s a lot of dirty samples and a lot of loops and a lot of shit you really can’t figure out. We get in here. When I first started the Piñataproject, I was with my boy Josh and we were like, We got to put this shit together like a puzzle. Now me, Sid and my manager Lambo we do the same thing. We carried it on. We picked the loops that we want, pick the sounds that we want and then we just constructed into something I could lay my vocals to."
