DeJ Loaf's newest single “Changes” is another notch on her belt. The record, which might be off her upcoming debut album Liberated, finds the rapper expanding her sound even farther while rapping about working towards her dreams.

"Old friends that turned into strangers/Ex lovers mad that I'm famous/They see the picture I painted/I been going through changes/I prayed to God and I made it/Nobody did me no favors/I'm sorry if you can't take it/I been going through changes," she raps on the hook.

Ever since breaking out with her single, “Try Me,” DeJ Loaf's sound has been going through changes. Her most recent single, "No Fear," finds Dej successfully dabbling in pop. Most recently, she released Fuck a Friend Zone, a collaborative mixtape with Jacquees.

Her debut album is supposed to drop later this year, but fans still haven't received an official release date for the album. The former Freshman spoke to XXL about the sound of her upcoming LP and her versatility as an artist.

"They’re gonna be like, 'Oh.' I hope they’re not shocked, I don’t know what’s gonna happen," she explained. "It’s not that much different. It’s different, but not too far off. They’re gonna understand she’s here to stay. I wanna play with the big dogs. I wanna make big music. I’m making music that I want to last forever, not just a quick hit. I don’t chase hits, I just do music and it comes out how it does."
