Over the weekend, (Aug. 26), E-40 premiered a new song on Dr. Dre's Beats 1 show, The Pharmacy. "Straight Out the Dirt" features YoungBoy Never Broke Again and Yo Gotti.

If there is anything The Ambassador of the Bay knows how to do it's collaborating with the next generation. On E-40's latest song, he lets YoungBoy Never Broke Again handle hook duties. "I went from nothing to something, I had to make this shit work/Came up from nothing/I got it straight out the dirt," spits YoungBoy with a determination and directness that expertly sells the song's concept.

E-40 sprinkles his natural sauce across the sinister track. He employs at least three different flows and assists YoungBoy with some ad-libs during the song's chorus. Yo Gotti shows up by the end of the track to hit the proceedings out of the park and make sure listeners understand how far the three southern MCs have come.

In a 2015 XXL interview, E-40 discussed what has helped him last so long in the rap game. "To make a long story short and a short story long, what I did different was I came in the game with an unorthodox rap style," said 40. I talked about subject matters that everyone wasn’t talking about. I came with a bunch of slang, I spit real shit that real muthafuckas can feel, you know what I mean? I was the first one talkin’ about triple beam scales and drought season and choppas and AR-15s and all that good shit, I could go on and on forever."
