A few days after being named a 2017 XXL Freshmen, Aminé drops his new song “Turf.” The track is a fantastic ode to his hometown Portland, Ore.

"Everybody wanna be a star, everybody want a nice car/Everybody wanna live great, have a good damn time, never trip with the law/The popo up in P.O., dirtier than B.O./Bullies from the past act like I'm they fucking hero/Living in LA for the weather, I FaceTime mom when I miss her/I got some homies that'll never leave my home/When I pull up to the corner, it smell like Miley Cyrus/I told 'em I don't smoke, they say, 'Boy, you fucking wildin'," he raps.

To make things more special, Aminé, who's part of Vevo LIFT's "Stripped" series, brought a live performance of “Turf" to his local supermarket. At the end of the performance, he's joined by R&B legend Charlie Wilson. Watch that below.

"Turf" follows up Aminé's songs “Heebiejeebies” featuring Kehlani, “REDMERCEDES,” "Baba," his three times platinum smash “Caroline,” plus his show-stopping Bonnaroo set.

"Caroline" helped boost Aminé to national fame. Back in November 2016, he added on a viral anti-Trump verse to the song while performing on The Tonight Show.

Earlier this week, XXL revealed the 2017 Freshman class, which Aminé was picked for alongside Kamaiyah, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, PnB Rock, Madeintyo, Playboi Carti, Kap G, Kyle, Ugly God and 10th Spot winner XXXTentacion. You can get your tickets to the Freshman show in New York on June 28 here.
