Brooklyn-based hip-hop artist OnCue is back with a new single off his upcoming Perfectly, Tragically, Flawed EP. "Rent Money," which is produced by Alex Lustig and Maki, is a fun record perfect for those late night benders when the weather gets warmer. Cue raps and sings on this track.

"Yeah, I said fuck depression/After that, started finnessin'/Smoking, drinking, keep the stressin' away, away/All my sessions like confession/Hardly ever learned my lesson," he spits. OnCue explains why this was one of his favorite songs on the upcoming EP.

"'Rent Money' was the best accident that's happen to me in recent memory," he says through email. "There was a rough 'Rent Money' demo sitting around, totally different beat and hook. Alex Lustig sent me a batch of beats and I randomly decided to starting rapping the 'Rent Money' lyrics over it. Off the bat, I knew I had something special. I sent the idea to Maki and Just Blaze—they both were freaking out, and of course it happened to be the last song made for Perfectly, Tragically, Flawed. It's one of my favorite songs of mine, because I'm usually known for slower, down tempo shit. But 'Rent Money' is upbeat, filled with melodies and bars, and I'm not forcing a thing."

OnCue, who's signed to Just Blaze's label Rebel Base Industries, released his previous EP You Knew All Along last year. Perfectly, Tragically, Flawed will be a six song project that boasts production from Just Blaze, Maki and Dntel (one half of the indie band The Postal Service).
